We are looking for a highly skilled Project Manager to take ownership of our service delivery in the Iberian region. You will ensure smooth, efficient, and high-quality project execution, while managing local resources and coordinating cross-border operations.

This is a hands-on position that blends people leadership, project management, and operational process optimization. You will oversee resources, streamline workflows, and ensure compliance with local regulations — all while driving operational excellence.

👉 Airpelago’s Iberian office is located in Lisbon, Portugal, with frequent travel across the Iberian region and occasional travel within Europe.

In 2023, we inspected 10% of Sweden’s power grid, firmly establishing our presence in the Nordic market. As we expand across Europe, we are looking for a motivated professional to help us build a strong presence in Iberia and other key markets.

Responsibilities

As the Sales and Tender Specialist, you will be a key driver of Airpelago’s growth in the Iberian market. With strong support, expertise, and proven processes from our Swedish headquarters, you will combine business development with tender management to expand our customer base and secure strategic contracts. Your responsibilities will include:

     Operations & Project Management

• Lead and manage project execution across Spain and Portugal, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of power line inspection projects.
• Coordinate daily operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and quality assurance.
• Ensure compliance with Iberian aviation, drone, and safety regulations in all activities.
• Oversee and support local drone pilots and subcontractors, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and performance.
• Represent Airpelago at customer meetings, regulatory discussions, and operational reviews across Iberia.

     Process & Performance Optimization

• Monitor project timelines, budgets, and risks, ensuring projects are delivered within scope and expectations.
• Drive process improvements to enhance scalability, efficiency, and operational resilience.
• Implement and standardize workflows across Iberia in alignment with Airpelago’s global operations playbook.
• Contribute to strategic planning and reporting on project KPIs.

       Market Development & Coordination

• Track and analyze market trends in Spain and Portugal to identify new operational opportunities.
• Collaborate with sales, product, and executive teams to support proposals and customer delivery.
• Ensure smooth cross-border coordination between the Iberian office in Lisbon and Airpelago HQ in Sweden.
• Build strong relationships with DSOs, TSOs, and regulatory bodies across Iberia.

Qualifications and Desired Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of project or operations management experience, ideally in energy, utilities, aviation, or technology sectors.
• Proven success in coordinating multi-stakeholder projects and leading teams.
• Familiarity with Iberian markets; experience in broader European markets is a strong plus.
• Strong technical aptitude and excellent computer literacy.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational abilities.
• Fluency in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a strong advantage.
• Valid driver’s license.
