Bid Manager

About the position:
The Bid Manager leads the bid process from opportunity identification to proposal submission, ensuring high-quality and timely proposals that align with client requirements. They collaborate with internal teams to develop competitive bid strategies and manage all aspects of the bid lifecycle, including compliance, budgets, and timelines. The role also involves identifying new business opportunities, maintaining bid documentation, and driving innovation in processes to ensure Airpelago’s competitiveness in the market. This role is critical to Airpelago’s business development initiatives, driving revenue growth and strengthening the company’s market position.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a bid manager, proposal manager, or a similar role, preferably in Sweden.
- Proven ability to develop and execute winning bid strategies that align with business goals.
- Strong understanding of public and private tender processes, particularly in the EU, focusing on the Nordics, the UK, France, and DACH.
- Expertise in managing complex bids for large-scale projects.
- Familiarity with EU contract laws, regulations, and public procurement guidelines.
- Skilled in leading cross-functional teams and fostering collaboration across sales, technical, legal, and finance units.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage budgets, and meet tight deadlines.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex information persuasively.
- Experience in financial modeling, pricing strategies, and negotiation for bids.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the bid lifecycle, from opportunity identification to proposal submission.
- Develop and execute bid strategies aligned with Airpelago’s objectives and market trends.
- Manage bid budgets, timelines, and resources to deliver high-quality proposals on schedule.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all technical, legal, and financial aspects of bids are addressed.
- Identify and monitor new business opportunities using public/private tender portals and competitor analysis.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Build and maintain bid documentation, including communication records, pricing details, and proposal templates.
- Analyze bid performance metrics and conduct post-bid evaluations to identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee negotiations to secure favorable terms for Airpelago while maintaining profitability.
- Continuously refine bid processes, templates, and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Explore ways to leverage AI tools for drafting responses and improving bid efficiency.
- Utilize our CRM system (Pipedrive) to manage bid-projects effectively.
